Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

PRP therapy uses your body’s natural healing power to restore hair growth. It involves drawing blood, separating the platelets, and reintroducing this “liquid gold” into the scalp to stimulate growth factors. This treatment activates dormant follicles, promotes fuller hair, and is minimally invasive with low recovery time.

PRP is a 3-step medical treatment in which a patient’s blood is drawn and platelets are harvested by centrifuge. These concentrated platelets are then injected and re-introduced to areas of concern, stimulating growth factors in that area. As well as accelerating healing, it also stimulates the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle of follicles both dormant and new, to a fuller density when applied to the scalp.

Although it involves medical input and specialised equipment, this procedure uses cells from your own body, so is a natural treatment. As it uses your body’s own cells, there is a very low risk of side effects. It is minimally invasive, meaning you do not have a long recovery afterwards. Although this treatment is highly effective at stimulating hair growth, it is also highly recommended following hair transplants every 6-12 months to encourage those new hairs to grow.

Tailored to both men and women, microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure using tiny sterilised needles to create tiny wounds to the skin. This encourages collagen production. Microneedling to the scalp encourages blood-flow, providing oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles, stimulating hair growth.

Our practitioner will also introduce a nutritional hair growth serum during the procedure to best maximise its result. This procedure links well with topical medication and is highly effective when used alongside other treatments.
